I'm not sure if I think like you or you think like me but I tried a moonrise shot like this all winter (Dec, Jan and Feb) without luck.
Do you have one with the moon's first few rays coming though?
I was and still am inspired by Ansel Adams' Moonrise over Hernandez as my reference point for wanting to make a moonrise shot. If you are interested in this famous photo here is the link below (click on the video):

Naj v olajševalno okoliščino še enkrat omenim, da je posnetek nastal zvečer. Z nastavitvijo na 'vivid' in na izravnavo beline 6250K.
Ob obdelavi je bila 'ogreta' na 4900K, zemlja je bila deležna 35 % opcije day-lighting in 28 % ostrenja; nebo je nedotaknjeno.

Andy,
there was no first few rays at all; moon was first 20 minutes behind clouds and then too high and too bright
After I sow Adams masterpieces, first thing I think on was:
If I most of my photos convert to BW will be very, very boring.
Realy nice examples what mean light.
